Main Body  

1. OBA president shall be elected by the members of OBA present at the GEN Body Meeting (GBM) and by others not present, through Proxy Votes (From as annx 1 to schedule II). The proxy vote will be sent to convener (OBA) at least 30 days prior to the Gen Body Meeting (GBM).

2. Other members of the committee will be elected by the members physically present at the time Gen Body Meeting (GBM).

3. The President and other elected members of the OBA management committee shall hold office for a period of two years.

4. No person is eligible for election as president or other or members of the management committee unless he is a members of OBA.

5. The members of the management committee shall be entitled such emoluments, allowances and privileges as may determined by Gen Body Meeting (GBM) which shall not be diminished during the term of office.

6. President and other members of the committee can only be removed before the expiry of the term if voted out by 2/3 of the OBA members present during the Gen.

7. All disputes are subject to jurisdiction of Gen Body Meeting (GBM) and local courts at Nainital.

Directive Principles

Though not enforceable by any court of law the principles there in laid down are nevertheless fundamental in the governance of the OBA as a body and it shall be the duty of the management committee to apply undermentioned principles in laying down various policies from time to time:-

(a) Welfare of the members.

(b) Adequate means of livelihood.

(c) Provide motivation for the students and the children of OBA members studying in SSGK and they are given opportunities and facilities to develop in a healthy manner and in condition of freedom & dignity.

(d) To create infrastructure movable/immovable to include all private and public sources of meeting material needs of the association.

(e) OBA, with in the limits of its economic capacity and resources, will make effective provisions to help OBA members of weak financial standing in education of their children, and provide assistance in case of unemployment, old age, sickness and disablement in other cases undeserved want.

(f) Bring about prohibition of the consumption, except for the medicinal purpose, of intoxicating drink & drugs and smoking which are injurious to health amongst the members & students of SSGK.

(g) To include the awareness amongst the members and the student with regards to protection of and improvement of the environment and to safe guard the forest, wildlife, monuments, place of object of artistic or historic interest, to safe guard public property and to abjure violence.

(h) Promote peace and harmony in their societies, among the members & students of SSGK and honourable relations with the neighbors.

(i) To cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired our national struggle to freedom and Protect and uphold the freedom.

(j) To strive and set example for members and students towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity so that OBA rises to higher levels of endeavor and achievement.

(k) To develop the scientific temper, humanism, spirit of reform amongst the members & students of SSGK.

Duties of Management Committee

President:
(a) To exercise such rights, authority & jurisdiction as deemed fit and duly approved by the Gen Body Meeting from time to time. 
(b) To liaison with SSGK authorities and interact so as to enhance the growth of the OBA. 
(c) Extend all help & advise for the betterment of OBA & students. 
(d) Coordinate the functioning of various chapters. 
(e) Call for OBA meet once in a year (on last Saturday of April every year) and lay annual financial statement. 
(f) Address the OBA meet & preside over the meeting. 
(g) To address the students and teachers of SSGK once a years. (h) To attend the Meet of OBA local chapters. 
(i) To frame policies with regards to OBA functioning.


Vice President:
(a) Publication of OBA journal once in a year. 
(b) Assist President OBA in carrying out his duties 
(c) Officiate as President in his absence. 
(d) To attend local chapters Meet on invitation.


Secretary:
(a) To Supervise preparations and circulations of points for the Gen Body Meeting (GBM) of OBA. 
(b) Publicity & Advertisement. 
(c) Update website regularly. 
(d) Issue circular and notification as and when reqd. 
(e) Publication of monthly/quarterly news letter as decided by Gen Body Meeting (GBM). 
(f) To attend local chapters Meet on invitation.


Treasurer:
(a) Prepare annual financial statement. 
(b) Budget estimates for the coming years. 
(c) Maintaining Upkeep of accounts. 
(d) Ratification of expenditure by the Gen Body Meeting (GBM). 
(e) Arrange for audit once a year by CA. 
(f) Publication of directory once in a year. 
(g) To attend local chapters Meet on invitation.


Convenor:
Convenor is the Senior member of the teaching staff who enjoys the respect and confidence of the old boys. He is nominated by the Principal and confirmed by the General Body Meeting (GBM) of the association. He also acts as the working Secretary/Treasurer. He drafts all letters of the OBA, corresponds with the old boys, maintains liaison with Secretary, President and Treasurer, receives all remittances, deposits them in the bank, Issue receipts, maintains accounts with the help of the Coordinator who is responsible for smooth functioning of OBA.


Co opted Members:
Ex officio Headmaster, Register and Accountant will be the Co-opted member. They will help the convenor in the smooth functioning of the OBA.


Coordinator:
Will be elected during the OBA meet. He will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of functioning of OBA at school and OBA management.

Disqualification of Members of Management Committee

1. The members of the management will deemed to be disqualified based on any one of the following:-

(a) Voluntarily resignation by the members. 
(b) On account of Misconduct to be voted out by 2/3 of the OBA members present at Gen Body Meeting (GBM). 
(c) If convicted by court of law. 
(d) Death/insanity. 
(e) Medical conditions.

2. In the event of the occurrences of any vacancy in the office of the President OBA by reasons of death, resignation, or removal or other wise, Vice President will act as President until the date on which a new President is elected. The Vice President will have all the powers of President and entitled to emoluments, allowances and privileges as may be determined by Gen Body Meeting (GMB) of OBA. For the period while he is so acting or discharging the function of President. Any other vacancy on the above grounds will be tilled by other members as nominated by President/Vice President.

3. Language. The official language of OBA shall be HINDI in “Devnagari” script. However, English language shall continue to be used for purpose of the OBA correspondence which it was being used immediately before the adoption of his constitution. However, efforts will be made to make the transition from English to Hindi progressively.

4. Chapters. Each chapter will be generally be organised on the pattern as per or as per schedule I, subject to the modification as deemed fit by the local chapter’s management committee.

5. The duties of the management committee of local chapters will be same towards management of local chapter as that of the main body. For OBA The local chapters will report to main chapters i. e OBA main body.

6. All chapters will endeavour to meet minimum once a quarter and forward the proceeding of the meeting to the main OBA body.

7. Gen Body Meeting (GBM) would be held once in a year. Gen Body Meeting (GBM) venue is to be decided by management committee. All representatives of the chapters & maximum members are expected to attend. Agenda points will be circulated well in advance by the convenor similarly points from any member of chapters should reach the Convenor at least two months in advance.

8. The minutes of the meeting will be circulated to all chapters and all chapters will ensure that all members of the chapter has an access to the minutes of the meeting.

9. All chapters to account fully all the revenue contribution made by the members. Any revenue collected will be forwarded to main body through draft at the earliest. Monetary contribution by the members will only be made for specific purpose duly endorsed by the President main body and later ratified by Gen Body Meeting (GBM).

10. The accounts and other documents will be subject to inspection/scrutiny by any member at any time. Total transparency will be maintained in the accounting procedure. All accounts will be audited annually by a CA.

Responsibility of Local Chapters

1. Local chapters will search, locate and integrate each OBA member, with in their jurisdiction, update the address, Tel. 1. No. and maintain a list to this effect. They will inform the OBA Management Committee once in a quarter about changes in the list.

2. Highlight the achievements and noble work done by any OBA member so that same can be reflected in the OBA journal.

3. Each chapter will have an E Mail and a website giving full details of the chapters.

4. Contribute articles and write ups for the quarterly news bulletin and OBA journal.

5. Enlist sponsors for the OBA journal.

6. Get as many advertisers as possible for he OBA journal.

7. Strengthen main OBA financially.
